Dual-action rotary buffer users: we've made major improvements to The Edge 2000® DA adapter system to enhance stability and structural integrity under all conditions.

Major re-engineering
The Edge 2000® DA adapter comprises several parts.
1. The barrel is precision-machined from high-tensile-strength brass alloy (tensile strength in excess of 70,000 psi) and chrome-plated.
2. The 5/16" mandrel's threads are coated with chemical welding solution and the mandrel is then screwed into the barrel with proper torque.
3. A coil pin is machine-pressed into a hole which is drilled through both the mandrel and barrel. Intercepting the threads of each piece, the pin is coated with a thread locking chemical and expands under compression, fusing the adapter into a rock-solid unit. (The pin is inserted from the rear of the mandrel. When the adapter is firmly installed on a buffer, the machine's shoulder acts as a further barrier to removal.)

This redesign affects all Edge 2000® DA adapters sold before February 2006, and does not affect Edge 2000® high-speed rotary adapters (for 8" pads).
